Strawberry Balsamic Topping/Dressing
Friday, June 15, 2012 at 02:16PM Recently there was a family reunion here and the family chef prepared this for an ice cream topping. I use it, generously, as the dressing on top of fresh spinach - lovely salad. Just sprinkle sea salt and more fresh ground pepper over all.
Serves 4 as a salad dressing or 8 for ice cream topping:
4 cups sliced strawberries
1/2 cup sugar
3/4 cup balsamic vinegar
1 heaping tablespoon fresh and coarse ground pepper
Mix all together, allowing the strawberries to release their juice. Let stand an hour before serving.
